A career with Next Stage A Way Forward offers you a unique opportunity to help people in your local community who are in need of a dedicated support network. It is hard and rewarding work that requires a special kind of person to take it on. If you think you have what it takes to be part of the Next Stage A Way Forward team, then we want to hear from you. We offer great practical benefits and incredible work satisfaction to all our staff.

There are many routes to joining the Next Stage A Way Forward team, from entry-level positions right through to senior management roles. Whatever position you come in at, there will always be room to grow within the company. As part of your staff development (see below), your line manager will talk you through the various paths you can take to advance in your career, whether that’s with Next Stage A Way Forward, or one of our sister companies.
At Next Stage A Way Forward, everything we do is focussed on shaping the future to create a better day, every day. This is not just a company motto to be parroted at the appropriate moment – it is a key part of our philosophy as a company. It doesn’t just apply to the people we support, either. We take the same attitude with our staff.
When you first start on your career with Next Stage A Way Forward, we will send you on an initial person-cantered induction. This induction course uses a variety of learning methodologies, including job-shadowing, e-learning, and face-to-face learning. The purpose of the induction is to give you a solid foundation of skills that you will need to undertake the various tasks associated with your role.
We know how important your role is both to the company and the people we support. We believe that, in order for you to feel confident and excel in your role, you will need more than your initial induction and training. That is why we invest into your induction, which takes place during your initial probationary period. During this time, you will be expected to attend a range of learning opportunities to develop your knowledge and skill-set in the area of supporting people.
We invest in your ongoing learning and development and expect you to participate in your own continuous professional development throughout your career. We provide you with constant support, including regular sessions with your line manager to discuss such matters as your well-being, practice, and learning and development. These sessions allow you and your line manager to identify any opportunities for growth within the company. You will also have access to a yearly appraisal, giving you the chance to reflect on your journey to date and discuss the areas in which you wish to develop.
There is funding available that can allow to take part in apprenticeship training that is relevant to your role. This is something we can consider following the successful completion of your probationary period. We enjoy celebrating staff achievements and successes at every level and offer monthly staff rewards for those who have demonstrated our company values and behaviours.
