We are a specialist care provider for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and associated complex needs. We provide supported living services for over 150 people across the North West. Our team has expertise across a wide range of specialist conditions, including hand-on experience supporting those with behaviours that challenge.
Next Stage 'A Way Forward'
Our staff are the key to our success with the people we support, which is why we invest so much into their development. This includes a system of continuous improvement and training to ensure we deliver consistently-high standards of personalised care across all our services.
We have been in business for almost 20 years, delivering quality, safety, governance and successful outcomes to the people we support. We aim for quality and excellence, and employ a stringent inspection and audit process.

At Next Stage ‘A Way Forward’, we support adults with a range of complex needs. To do so, we have developed several flexible supported living solutions. By being flexible in our approach we have created an effective pathway to more independent lifestyles for the people we work with.
Our properties provide a safe home and a supportive living environment for our people. Each home is equipped to the highest standard and we deliver a consistent approach across all our properties, emphasising choice and independence. Our in-house teams deliver high-quality support, being available for our people 24 hours a day.
We operate several supported living services, which vary in size depending on the needs of the individual. Since 2002, we have been expanding to meet the ever-increasing local demand for support services in the North West in terms of range and diversity. In doing so, we are able to bring together people that face similar challenges and who have similar requirements for support.
Our services include solo placements, dual placements, supported living, and community and outreach support. For more information, visit our Service page.

We specialise in supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs and autism spectrum disorder. Our care providers are trained and experienced in providing individual support tailored around the needs of that person. We develop personal support packages that cover every aspect of a person’s life including diagnosis and beyond.
Next Stage 'A Way Forward'
We have built a strong partnership with the Clinical Commissioning Groups and local authorities across the North West. This is critical to serving the social care and mental health needs of the communities we operate in.
The adult care sector faces a variety of challenges, including a rising demand for services, resulting in growing pressure on finite resources. It is incumbent on all Social Care Providers to share the responsibility to fine new solutions to the sector’s problems.
We have adopted a more collaborative approach. This leads to better service for the people we support, which is at the heart of everything we do. It also allows us to plan more effectively for future needs, and leads to us constantly evaluating our service provision as we respond rapidly to local and regional care priorities.
We meet regularly with local commissioning teams to review current working processes, identify improvements, and discuss future services. This honest debate allows us to improve the quality of care, choice, and opportunities for those we support. We also listen to feedback from our commissioning partners to help shape our continued development.
We aim to be good listeners who communicate regularly and respond rapidly to other care providers and stakeholders. We aim to be flexible, proactive partners, who find effective and practical solutions. We are especially dedicated to helping more challenging individuals that other providers may be unable (or unwilling) to support in an appropriate or timely manner.
With our significant experience in the industry we are, of course, conscious of the significant financial restrictions that face our stakeholders and the pressures placed on the adult social care budget at a local and regional level. This is why we tale all reasonable steps to help reduce and manage costs
Next Stage 'A Way Forward'
We work closely with our housing associations, helping to process supported living referrals from Local Authority adult social care commissioners. As we expand, we develop new supported living services in partnership with a specialist registered provider. Our priority, as ever, is to find the most appropriate accommodation for each individual.
